Vrak is a gathering point for maritime archeological research in the Baltic Sea, both nationally and internationally. Through collaborations with various actors, Vrak wants to create conditions for knowledge exchange through networks, seminars, workshops and conferences.
Today, maritime archeological research is conducted at several institutions in the country, including Swedish National Maritime and Transport Museums, Lund University, Stockholm University, Bohusläns Museum and Kalmar County Museum. Educations in the subject are offered at Södertörn University, among others. A number of researchers are active at Södertörn.
Vrak's employees are engaged as experts, advisors and partners in several maritime archeological research projects around the Baltic Sea. These are to large extent operated by Vrak.
