Estonia safeguards, protects and makes available many underwater remains.
In the open sea around the islands of Saaremaa and Hiiumaa, the Estonian national heritage board, “Muinsuskaitseamet”, has installed buoys and signs for wrecks dating from World War I and the Estonian War of Independence.
